Bunya Nut is native species of large trees from the South-eastern Queensland, specifically from the Bunya Mountain Region where they can be founded mostly. This trees grows really tall in their origin place. The Bunya Nut cone is huge and can reach even 10kg in weight containing anywhere in between 30 to 100 nuts. Taste-wise they are close to chestnut and are more starchy than oily. The nut has to be hot cooked to access the "heart" of the seed. The nut can be enjoyed as it is or milled and turned into a dough for baking creations. This is definitely one of the rarest tree when comes into growing Native Bushfood. Our Bunya Nuts are all seedling and comes in Tubestock size. This tree can be grown either in large pots, where they will stay short, or planted in the ground where they can grow freely taller.

Truly Beautiful plant

The moment i saw it as a huge tree at the local football ground, i knew i wanted this. However the plant only produces the nuts only so often. So i went with Finger Limes to purchase the plant and what a great company too. I was so happy with the packaging and care that went into the plant. it was done nicely. It arrived fresh and even looked healthy too. Great instructions in the box to help me take care of the plant with no issues at all.
